X6Cr17

Stainless steel grade 1.4016 is also commonly known as grade 430. 430 stainless steel combines good corrosion resistance with good formability and ductility.

It is a ferritic non-hardenable plain Chrome stainless steel with excellent finish quality.

430 stainless steel also has excellent resistance to nitric attack, making it very suitable for use in chemical applications. The most popular applications for the 430 are household appliances and decorative trim.

The property data given in this document were written for round products in EN 10088-3: 2005.

Weldability

430 stainless steel can be easily welded by all fusion methods, but preheating to 150-200 ° C is recommended. Annealing at 790-815 ° C can eliminate the brittleness of the heat affected zone.

Depending on the area to be used, the recommended round materials are 430, 308L, 309 310 or 312 stainless steels.
