Weldability
The relatively high hardness of etatenitic steels and their hardening ability should be considered in connection with machining.
Machinability
Gas shielded welding resulted in the best creep properties for welds. 4841 is a fully austenitic steel and sensitive to hot cracking. Therefore, the temperature should be limited to a maximum of 1.0 kJ / mm. For this reason SAW should be avoided. The use of filler and a basic flux / coating will reduce the risk of hot cracking.
