904L
High Ni and Mo austenitic grade with very high resistance to corrosion. It is widely used in the chemical and petrochemical industry to work with medium concentrated sulfuric acid.
Machinability
1.4539 delta stenitik stainless steels , rapidly hardens and together with toughness are generally recognized as problematic in processing means that their perspective, eg . n operations such as turning, milling and drilling. However, with the right tool selection, tool settings and cutting speeds, these materials can be successfully machined.
Weldability
All high alloy austenitic steels are well suited for welding, and methods used for welding conventional austenitic steels can also be used at 904L. However, due to its stable austenitic structure, it is slightly more susceptible to hot cracking in relation to welding and should generally be welded using low heat input.
