EN 1.4104 stainless steel is a martensitic stainless steel formulated for primary forming in forged products . 1.4104 is the EN numerical designation for this material. X14CrMoS17 is the EN chemical designation .
Corrosion Resistance
Corrosion resistance is not good due to its high sulfur content .
Hardening
Ferritic steel can be hardened between 950 ° C and 1070 ° C. Subsequent cooling should take place in ambient polymer, oil or air.
Weldability
1.4104 grade stainless steel grade materials are generally not welded. The mechanical-technological values of the weld and the heat can be very different from the values of the base material without additional heat treatment.
