EN 10025 is a European standard specification . It consists of six parts, each divided into a specific steel or group of steel. The specification covers hot rolled structural steel formed in a variety of industry standard cross sections.
The standard specification includes general requirements, production processes and heat treatment processes.
S235JR , unalloyed define the structural steel and EN 10025 is located in Chapter 2 of the specification. "S" means "structural steel" with a yield strength of 235 MPa . The "JR" designation confirms that the material has passed the Charpy V-notch impact test at 27 joules at room temperature .

Physical Properties
Structural steels are primarily produced unalloyed by considering their tensile strength and yield limit values. These steels find much more usage area as they constitute 75-80% of the steels used in industrial applications. However, these application areas are generally structural applications. One of the main reasons for using high amounts is that they are cheaper in price and easy to find compared to other steels.
Steel grade S235JR is actively used to implement civil engineering solutions. Steel structures are made from S235JR steel for the construction of industrial and residential facilities, parts of power transmission towers, elements of equipment, offshore structures, oil and gas platforms, automobile bridges and other structures.
